CACs are an important part of child abuse investigations, with a focus on minimizing trauma to the child during the process. They bring together a multidisciplinary team of professionals involved in child protective and victim advocacy services, including law enforcement and prosecution, and physical and mental health providers.
Our CAC can only work with youth referred by CPS or law enforcement.

Assisting the child and non-offending family in the aftermath of abuse
Helping the child and non-offending family access needed resources
Providing vital information about the legal system and what to expect
Attending court with the child and non-offending family members

It can be difficult to report child abuse. People often find it easier to ignore it or avoid thinking about the possibility a child may have been abused. But if you don’t report child abuse, the child will be unprotected and the abuse will likely continue. Often, families are ashamed, distressed, or do not know how to ask for help.
If you suspect a child is being sexually or physically abused, reach out to Child Protective Services (CPS) to report it ASAP at 855-444-3911.
