About Us
Welcome to Dial Help your Community Support and Outreach Center! Dial Help is a multi-faceted agency that offers short term crisis intervention, suicide prevention services, victim services, sexual assault survivor services, counseling, substance abuse prevention services, family support services and more. Thank you for visiting our site and feel free to take a look around at what services Dial Help has to offer, many of which are free and all confidential.
Dial Help is committed to providing no or low cost direct services to our neighbors, or linking them to community resources in order to strengthen the residents, families, and communities of the Copper Country and beyond.
In 2010, Dial Help entered its 39th consecutive year of service. Dial Help provides confidential walk-in, instant messaging, and telephone crisis intervention 365 days per year. Last year we responded to requests for assistance across all 15 counties of Michigan’s 16,000 square mile Upper Peninsula. Issues addressed include relationship problems, family support services, suicide, bereavement, substance abuse, and other stressful situations. Dial Help also works to prevent sexual assault and substance abuse by educating children about protective factors that build self-esteem and positive decision-making skills. Last year our prevention programs served elementary and high school youth in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties.
